 Beyond question, this is the most
popular area for chartering... and for good reason. To
begin with, there is almost a total lack of nautical
hazards: deep water everywhere, with coral reefs few and
far between, and very visible; almost all of the islands
border the protected Sir Francis Drake Channel; the winds
are almost always constant from the east and all the
popular harbors have good holding.Distances between good anchorages
are minimal, and shore facilities (resorts and marinas)
are more than adequate and varied to suit every taste and
need... and there is an unlimited choice of boats and
yachts to charter, both power and sail.. both bareboat
(for the experienced boater) or completely crewed with an
experienced skipper.
